Apa yang Membuat Windows 8 Spesial ? Artikel ini merupakan kutipan artikel yang ditulis oleh Reporter Staf Times, IB dan coba saya terjemahkan. Microsoft telah terlebih dulu memperkenalkan Windows 8 sistem operasi pada build windows konferensi di Anaheim, memberikan kesempatan  pertama untuk mengintip perangkat lunak lunak mereka dalam antisipasi jangka panjang untuk teknologi touch screens. 

Windows 8 diharapkan menjadi kendaraan Microsoft  di tahun depan dalam memasuki perang PC tablet dengan Google dan Apple. Raksasa perangkat lunak ini memiliki harapan tinggi untuk iterasi signifikan berikutnya dari sistem operasi Windows, dan merupakan perbaikan terbesar sejak Windows 95. 

Microsoft menunjukkan beberapa faktor bentuk baru pada Windows 8, termasuk ultrabooks dan every variation of the tablet.. 

Produk ini terlihat menarik dan bisa membuat Microsoft lebih kompetitif, tetapi Windows 8 masih hanya dalam tahap preview pengembang. Kita masih perlu untuk menjalankan tes lebih banyak pada Windows 8 untuk menentukan stabilitas utama dan perbandingan," Pacific Crest Securities analis Brendan Barnicle menulis dalam catatan kepada klien. 

Namun, peserta konferensi itu sangat antusias tentang beberapa fitur baru pada Windows 8.
Pertama, Windows 8 hanya membutuhkan 281 MB memori dan 29 proses, turun dari 404 MB storage dan 32 proses pada Windows 7. Sebagai hasil dari perubahan ini dan lainnya, Windows 8 juga memiliki waktu boot tercepat dari setiap sistem operasi Windows.
"Microsoft menyediakan satu demonstrasi dari sebuah workstation high-end yang boot secepat monitor PC dihidupkan," kata Barnicle. 

Persyaratan memori yang lebih rendah membuat Windows 8 lebih terjangkau dan waktu boot yang cepat menjaga win 8 kompetitif. 

Analis mengatakan peserta juga menyukai touchscreen kemampuan log-in. Daripada mengetik password, pengguna dapat membuat password dengan menyentuh pada bagian layar. Windows 8 mencakup teknologi sentuh yang tidak dilakukan Microsoft di masa lalu. 

Bahkan, Microsoft bekerja sama dengan produsen layar sentuh untuk meningkatkan kinerja dari kaca (baca : screen) serta perangkat lunak. 

Selain itu, Microsoft mengumumkan kompatibilitas untuk Windows 8. Segala sesuatu yang berjalan pada Windows 7 akan berjalan pada Windows 8, Windows & Windows Live, Presiden Steven Sinofksy mengatakan pada konferensi.
